Here's a new setting for that "You Sexy Thing" song from The Full Monty.

Melinda found this interesting link: Colorgenics, or how the order in which you click on colored cubes can be used to divine your true personality.

Oooh, pretty armor.

My mouth waters just reading some of the stats at the Iron Chef Compendium. Mmmm, kobe beef and lobster.

Here are some recent statistics on how well Yale graduates did when applying to law school.

Someone on the Princeton Review boards was wondering what law school exams look like. This is what they look like.

There you have it: LSAC's official guide to ABA-approved law schools. Includes a function to calculate your likelihood of admission to the school of your choice. (My ranges: Stanford 12-18%, Harvard 18-24%, Berkeley 34-42% [eeek!!!] and Hastings 96-99%. *sigh*)

Interesting reading! It's a report from a British publisher on philosophy education and program rankings in the U.S., with a secondary focus on law schools based on how well they philosophize.

Listen to some Louis Armstrong Sound Clips, sure to restore any mood.

Awwww...they've made a website for my old haunt, the Bridgewater Commons shopping mall. *nostalgia*

I need to get something for my friend Heather's impending baby.

Everyone needs to look at pictures of Aragorn.

Now I'm really, really, really thinking too hard about this.

Whew -- finally found a place to download the trailers without having to deal with the monstrosity of Quicktime files embedded in Apple web pages. (Optimized for Windows, of course -- as if.)

Maybe it's just my computer's way of telling me it's time to upgrade, but I can't download any of the Star Wars Episode II trailers without Windows completely freezing.

Awww! Eowyn Jr., a poster on Imladris, made me this electronic birthday card. Thanks, EJ!

Wonder if I'd feel differently about the whole application process if I'd happened upon the DeLoggio Admissions Achievement Program sooner.

From the University of Chicago: Two Views on Selecting a Law School. I pretty much agree with both.

Courtesy of Melinda: it's AdiosBarbie.com, a Body Image Site for Every Body. Be sure to play the "Feed the Model" game.

Perhaps I am, in fact, thinking too hard about this.

Heh -- UC Berkeley has their own Squids List.

Nooooo! They can't get rid of Early Decision!! It was bad enough when they made it binding, but to completely deprive high school kids of the chance of learning they got into Yale in December? I'd have hated them for it. In fact, I probably would have wound up going somewhere else, somewhere that did accept me on nonbinding Early Action terms. Hmph.

Paul recommends this retreat cottage in Marin County.

Courtesy of Melinda: here are some tips on eating out from the Weight Watchers discussion boards.

Wow. Back before they were pressured to stop, Boalt used this Grade Adjustment Rubric to "properly" weight applicants' GPAs. This probably would have helped me, if they were still doing it.

It's kind of like a belief in Santa Claus that you just can't shake: the U.S. News and World Report rankings. Here's their estimation of the Top Law Schools in the United States.

It's Just Another Baby: one man's story of his wife's pregnancy. Humorous and skilled enough to be worth reading, perhaps more so than any other similar story I've found.

On Being a European, now that there's the euro. (Which I guess we're not allowed to call the Eurodollar any more, huh?)

Who Would Buy That? Someone, apparently.

And here's what epinions.com has to say about Boalt.

So my LSAT score is lower than I'd hoped for. At least, according to this article, it still puts me squarely in the running at Boalt Hall.

Sing along with Carmina Burana!

Ever since we saw the Ralph Bakshi LOTR cartoonmovie, ages ago, my husband has sworn that there was a sequel made. I didn't believe him, until I found it myself: the Rankin-Bass Return of the King. Yes, it looks every bit as laughably awful as the Bakshi.

My husband wants a set of rubber stamps that print chinchilla footprints when stamped. My mother-in-law has a set of cat footprints, so I guess this would be sort of a comeback?

In case you've ever felt as though you lived in the Armpit of America, now you can feel really bad for these people.

From the Sickpuppies File: Two guys get turned away from a hotel in Houston where, by all arguments, they should have been given a room. They go on to get even by creating a Powerpoint presentation on how bad the hotel is and posting it on snopes.com. And no, it's not a hoax.

My husband and I played Black and White, Peter Molyneux's vaunted chef d'oeuvre, last year...and were mildly bored. So, apparently, was Lore Sjöberg of the Brunching Shuttlecocks.

If you're also thinking of a career change in this time of economic uncertainty, but applying to law school is too much of a pain in the ass, check out this List of Occupations. You won't be disappointed.

This past weekend, while flying to Phoenix, I saw something I didn't know was possible: a rainbow on top of the clouds, reflected such that I was looking at a complete circle -- a rainbow-colored bullseye. Now I'm trying to figure out how it happened, using the Mathematics of Rainbows.

Yo, check this shit. It's The Council of Elrond -- as rewritten and directed by Kevin Smith.

Thinking of redesigning my website, I happened upon Dynamic Drive DHTML Scripts. Free things are always good.
